My Assassination Target is My Childhood Crush? Print Edition

First of all: thank you all for your patience and support once again. As a thank you for waiting so long, I wanted to share a fun fact about Nate & Izzy that isn’t obvious in this short little story: they’re actually both Australian!

Originally we were just basing them out of a Generic American City, but the more I worked with Nate, the more obvious it felt that they would hail from the Land Down Under. This decision was made after the main story went to print though, but the bonus chapter and any future work with these two will leave a little more space to better explore that part of their characters. Please imagine Nate throwing the word “mate” around and that already helps lol

Now for other news…

Somehow, in the midst of everything else, I ended up also getting carpal tunnel in my drawing hand. Because of course I did. So, I needed to get a second surgery a couple weeks ago to fix that.

The bad news? I’m now dealing with healing from surgeries on both my right foot AND my right hand. I’m awfully lopsided :(

The good news: once my hand is recovered, I’ll never get carpal tunnel again! I can draw Forever………

In the meantime, I’m working with a physical (occupational) therapist to make sure my hand heals correctly. I’ve started practicing drawing a little bit at a time as part of that therapy, but for the time being my hand is still too weak to reliably draw the way I need to to finish the comic. But rest assured, it hasn’t been forgotten about!

We have had some other campaigns going on in the background while I’m recovering. This is possible because my co-writer, Lee, has been hard at work drawing designs for enamel pins! Her style is pretty different from mine, but if you’re curious and would like to continue to support us during my recovery, feel free to share those projects as they come :)

Hey everyone! Just wanted to give y’all a quick update. 

Work has been paused on the bonus chapter for a minute while I (Evan, the artist) recover from a surgery that made me unable to sit at a table. I’ve recently recovered enough to be able to start plugging away at it again, though! It’s a little under half-way done, there’s just a couple more pages to pencil and then it’s on to inking. As I’m able to sit at the table longer and longer, more work gets done each day.
